With Evergreen Park set to host its first card of the 2009 horse racing season tonight in Grande Prairie, Lacombe’s meet leading trainer Harold Haining and his wife, Colleen, are hoping their good run will continue at the half-mile oval

.

“I’ve got some nice horses and they’re performing well,” Haining told the Daily Herald Tribune.

HF Agent Nintynine is a filly that I’m looking forward to racing here on the half miler – she corners really well on the smaller turns.

Willyourememberme has been a good solid mare since coming to us – she’ll compete well on any sized track...and my two-year-olds are coming along nice too.”

The longtime horseman says he will continue to use his regular pilots Brandon Campbell, Bill Tainsh Jr. and Jeff Stone throughout the summer meet as his leg continues to heal from an injury he suffered this past spring.
