Ont.-Sired Freshmen Qualify At Scioto

Exactly 75 freshman pacers and trotters lined up behind the Mike Woebkenberg gate Tuesday morning at Scioto Downs Racino.

Nineteen total qualifers were held with eight qualifying races of older horses preceding the seven pacing races and four trotting fields of two-year-olds.

The fastest freshman of the day was Hawks Cry Hoboken (Feelin Friskie - Vin E Can Do), guided by Dan Noble in 1:57. The Ben Davis trainee led from the 1/2 mile pole on and came home in :28.3. The other sub-1:59 pacing winner was Medoland Lindeylou (Stonebridge Regal - Jodie Lynne Tup) who went in 1:58.4 for driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr and trainer Mike Medors.

The fastest two-year-old trotter of the day was See The Wind (Deweycheatumnhowe - Platinum Power). The colt won in 2:03.1 for driver/trainer Chris Beaver.

Live harness racing this week kicks off tomorrow (Wednesday) with a post time of 6:30 p.m. The evening wagering options include two carryovers - the Pick-4 (races 5-8) and the Super High Five (race 9). This week's racing also includes the first leg of two late closing series - the Columbus Claiming Survival Series (Thursday) and the Scioto River Trot (Friday).
