A change of tactics on Thursday was no problem for Cuz She Can, who registered her second consecutive victory against top company in the $32,000 Mares Open

at Harrah’s Chester Racetrack.

Taking off the pace initially, Yannick Gingras floated first-over with the five-year-old Cambest mare past a :54.4 half, advancing gradually to the flank of leader Teenage Paige (George Napolitano) and tracking her past three-quarters in 1:22.2.

Cuz She Can turned up the pressure on the far turn, eventually pulling past Teenage Paige at head-stretch to win by a handy 2-3/4 lengths in 1:50.2. Omen Hanover (Jim Pantaleano) was shuffled to the back of the pack on the far turn, re-rallying up the open stretch to claim third from Sportsfancy, with Fleur de Lil completing the quintet.

Ron Burke trains Cuz She Can for Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida. It was the mare’s seventh win of the campaign, and the 21st of her career. She has banked more than $145,000 this season and upwards of $545,000 to date.
