Country Estate, under the command of driver Brian MacPhee, was a winner in his 2009 debut in the Thursday
night feature at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre.
The five-year-old son of Force Of Life laid down splits of :30.4, 1:02 and 1:31.3 over a track rated “good” before sprinting home in :29 seconds to post the 2:00.3 decision over PH Super Dave. Third prize was earned by Sounding.
Country Estate, a former Gold Cup starter, is owned by Wesley Patriquin of Debert, NS and trained by Glen MacKay. It was the 10th lifetime win for the pacer, who has banked more than $40,000 to date.
The CDPEC will host racing on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
