With his rivals vanquished early, Muscle Up The Goal raced against the clock — and won, scoring in a track record 1:52 in Wednesday’s $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

The time of the mile was the fastest ever by a four-year-old stallion at The Meadows, eclipsing the mark of 1:53 set by Monte Christo Spur.

Muscle Up The Goal and Aaron Merriman were at the front in a flash despite leaving from post nine. The son of Muscle Mass-Tags Goal was so dominant that he was ahead five lengths at the three-quarters while continuing to open up. He scored by seven and a half lengths over Call For Justice, with Classicality third.

Chris Beaver trains Muscle Up The Goal, who won his third straight and extended his career bankroll to $265,150, for Synerco Ventures.

Merriman piloted five winners — including a pair for trainer Ammon Hershberger — on the 14-race card
