When it comes to field size, some in the horse racing industry tend to poke fun at certain thoroughbred events due to tiny fields. Yonkers Raceway has announced the amount of entries for its Art Rooney Pace and Lismore Pace
, and, simple put, they are very small.
Four three-year-olds have been entered for Yonkers Raceway's Art Rooney Pace as well as its companion event, the Lismore. Both races are set to be contested Saturday, June 12.
The purse of the Rooney is $250,000, while the Lismore will go for $150,000.
The entrants, in alphabetical order, are listed below.

"We are obviously very disappointed at the lack of interest shown in two of our premier races," Yonkers Raceway General Manager Bob Galterio said via release. "We're going to re-evalaute both events, but we have to receive better support from owners and trainers for them to continue in any form."
Post positions are to be drawn next Tuesday afternoon.

Do you think maybe some of the colts going in the Burlington Stakes at Mohawk, which has almost 90 eligibles, including the likes of Sportswriter, All Speed Hanover, Ideal Matters, Malicious and Rocknroll Heaven, and was raced in four divisions with 10 across the track last year, might be better placed in the Rooney. I know some don't like the small track, but please.
