The fourth installment of the 2009 Hambletonian/Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll has been released, and
it comes as no surprise to see Lucky Jim topping the list based on his 12-for-12 start to the season.
The only mild surprise on the list is the fact that Lucky Jim, who was named the USTA’s Horse of the Month for May, didn’t garner all of the first-place votes.
The Julie Miller-trained four-year-old son of S Js Photo – Hawaiian Sierra was a brave winner in Sunday’s $250,000 Maxie Lee Memorial in a time of 1:52.3 for driver Andy Miller. He has banked more than $394,000 this season for partners David and John Prushnok and William Gregg.
