According to a report that contains comments from Hiawatha Horse Park owner Jim Henderson, there appears to have been a breakthrough in regard to the possibility of live racing returning to the Sarnia, Ont. raceway this season.

According to an article by blackburnnews.com, Henderson has signed a letter of intent with the Province of Ontario to conduct live racing to take place at Hiawatha Horse Park.

The report does not going into any specific details regarding the letter of intent or any possible deal, but it does state that the deal is the same one that was offered originally.

The article contains a sound bite of Henderson saying, "It won't cover our expenses or our bills, or anything like that, but it keeps us in the game."

The raceway owner goes on to say, "We have to come up with our own revenue sources for some other things with our partners. So, now we've got to sit with the horsepeople and different partners in the game and see if we can come up with a plan on how to operate for this season."
