Mistress Valentine claimed the lead at the half and rolled to an easy victory in Wednesday’s $15,000 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Mistress Valentine was away second for Mike Wilder before circling the leader, True Day Dream. The five-year-old daughter of Master Glide-Patsys Valentine faced no effective challenge thereafter, scoring in 1:54 to match her career best. True Day Dream held place, while Catching Katie finished third.

Tyler Stillings trains Mistress Valentine, who extended her career bankroll to $154,219, and owns with Rags To Riches Of PA.

Elsewhere on the 15-race card, Limelight Beach, a top freshman last year for trainer Brian Brown, made his three-year-old debut with a productive but losing effort. He took the field through three-quarters in 1:54.1 but fell prey to the pocket-sitting Cammikey, who scored in a swift 1:51.1 for Brian Zendt. Limelight Beach was second.

A son of Somebeachsomewhere-Always Cam who had a single victory in four starts last year for trainer Bill Zendt and owner/breeder Cam Land LLC,

Cammikey now has won five straight to begin his sophomore campaign and likely won’t be under the radar much longer.

Dave Palone drove four winners while Brian Zendt and Wilder each fashioned a triple.
