An accident marred Friday night’s fifth race at Rideau Carleton Raceway and forced driver John MacDonald to the sidelines for the rest of the night. In addition, Race 13 was declared a No Contest after another accident took place.

In the fifth race incident, Miss Millionaire (Gord Brown) made a break from fifth before the first quarter causing interference with the trailing horses Cashmere Lady (Stephane Pouliot), Southwind Satin (John MacDonald) and Grayland Astrid (Gilles Dion).

Trot Insider has learned that driver John MacDonald suffered an elbow injury when he was unseated in the incident and has booked off his remaining drives. Reports from Rideau indicate that the horses and other drivers involved escaped injury.

Later on the card, Race 13 was declared a No Contest after another accident.

Barbs Beauty (Kyle Forgie) made a break and fell while racing three-wide just past the first quarter mark and caused interference to the rest of the field. Driver Kyle Forgie was reportedly up on his feet shortly after the race.

Trot Insider will provide more details when they are made available.

May 8, 2010 - 3:10 pmAfter conversing with Kyle,

Tammy Forgie SAID...

After conversing with Kyle, his mare Barbs Beauty did make a quick break but after which she was run into by the horse that was four wide Capilano Creek(Claude Beausoleil) who then hooked wheels with Barbs Beauty and spun her around causing her to fall and then caused interference to the rest of the field. A few bumps and bruises for Kyle but the mare Barbs Beauty died on the track.

Better days ahead, Kyle.
