The featured Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace in race nine for a $5,400 purse has Shake N Blake as the prohibitive favourite from post five fresh off her third-place finish in the Saturday evening Preferred that was captured by red hot stallion Blood Money in 1:53.1. Shake N Blake was race timed in 1:54.4 on that evening from the Doyle outfit, with the trainer co-owning the six-year-old daughter of Hes Watching with Max Webster Stable of Inverness, N.S. The 27-time winner will have David Dowling at the grips this week as she faces four foes including a pair of stablemates.
Sweet Molly, to be driven by Ken Murphy, holds down post three from the Doyle barn after a narrow second-place finish in her latest. while post four belongs to Elm Grove Mistress from the Doyle stable with Brady Sweet driving the 11-year-old mare seeking win number 64 of her career.
Completing the lineup, Promise Me Later has rail control for trainer Luke Burke with Gilles Barrieau getting the catch-driving call and the Ellen Stevenson-trained Therealprincess has post two with Mike Downey in the bike behind the former Atlantic Canadian standout.
The "Post Time Picks" has selected Shake N Blake on top: “Shake N Blake comes into this race off impressive back-to-back thirds against the boys in the Preferred 2, and now faces a compact field of mares for this assignment, so this should be light work for her tonight.”
The race 10 finale has a field of eight in the second Super Hi-5 dash of the evening. Miss Countour (Downey) is the top selection from post two as she takes on a talented cast of lasses including Starship Beauty (Paul Langille), Acefortyfour Dome (Jason Hughes) and Islebetu Islebeatu (Marc Campbell).
