P H Bestman returned to the winner's circle after capturing the featured $1,225 Winners Over Pace off a three-week layoff Sunday afternoon at Truro Raceway

Driven by Todd Trites, the Dr. Trevin Shive-trained P H Bestman ($5.50) rallied home in :28.1 from the backfield to score the one length victory in 1:58.3 over pacesetter Lils Destiny and last week's winner Maritimer. The seven-year-old son of Cambest, who won his last start on April 15, kick started a Trites-Shive late Daily Double. Eight-year-old mare NF Debutante ($6) earned her first win of the season in the claiming finale and wrapped up the $13.60 Daily Double. Dr. R. James Shive of Rines Creek, N.S. owns both winners.
Trites completed the 12-race card with three driving wins while Ernest Laffin won four races, including three for trainer Blair Laffin.
