He may not have known how good Gamblers Passion was when he shelled out $26,000 for the Cams Card Shark filly in the fall of 2007, but now Kostas Tsanakos has -- literally -- gotten a grasp of the situation
.
Now, with six starts, five wins and $66,000 in purses to the filly's credit, Tsanakos is riding high with the 2009 Blossom Series victor -- especially since he has been able to take over training duties on the three-year-old this season.
He told Ray Brienza of The Star Ledger that he usually buys one yearling every year. "I've been lucky in the past because all of those that I bought have made it to the races. But Gamblers Passion is an exceptional filly. I can't say anything bad about her. I've never had something like this before."
