Arch Madness, the richest Canadian-sired trotter in harness racing history, is set for his third campaign overseas in Europe.
Owner Marc Goldberg told Trot Insider that two-time O'Brien Award winner Arch Madness is en route to Norway to compete in the Oslo Grand Prix, which is scheduled for May 12.
The nine-year-old Balanced Image gelding won the Oslo Grand Prix in 2011 and finished third in the event last year. He was also the runner-up to Commander Crowe in the 2012 Elitlopp.
Trained by Norway native Trond Smedshammer for Goldberg and Willow Pond LLC, the 31-time winner has collected trophies from victories in the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final, Breeders Crown, Trotting Classic, Maple Leaf Trot, Credit Winner Trot, Arthur J. Cutler, and Titan Cup while earning $3,764,814 in purses.
Goldberg told Trot Insider that Arch Madness also plans to head to Sweden following the Oslo Grand Prix. The Elitlopp is scheduled for May 26. The connections of Timoko (France), Sebastian K (Sweden), Maharajah (Sweden), Shaq Is Back (Sweden), Nesta Effe (Italy), Mack Grace SM (Italy), Brad De Veluwe (Finland), and Formula One (Finland) have also confirmed invitations to compete in the prestigious event according to the race's website while seven spots remain open in the field.
