All three starters for trainer Kyle Bossence found the winner’s circle on Monday, May 4 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, including Masstercraft at 17-1 in the $24,000 conditioned trotting feature.

Jonathan Drury, who was also perfect on the night driving the three Bossence pupils, sent Masstercraft on an early speed mission and had him on top from post seven through the quarter in :27.3. After yielding to Roxie Hart (Tyler Borth) and sitting the pocket through middle fractions of :57.1 and 1:25.4, Masstercraft waited for room at the pylons in the stretch and swept past that rival to win by a length in 1:53.4. Roxie Hart held off Landing On Time (Mark MacDonald) for second.

Masstercraft’s successful seasonal debut grew his bankroll to $331,104, and the five-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Pretty Crafty has now won 10 times in 53 career starts. Bossence of Arthur, Ont. owns the former Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold competitor. The win price was $36.60.

Bossence scored his first win on the night as 14-1 shot Thor B Good ($30) blew away a field of young trotters in a $19,000 conditioned event. The three-year-old went to the top from the inside post, cut the mile, and streaked away in the final quarter to an 8-1/4-length victory in 1:54.3. The My Mvp-Charming Julieann colt is now two-for-five in his debut season for owners Bossence and William Brown of Hanover, Ont.

To complete his triple, the conditioner sent out a full brother to Masstercraft, D A Masstermind ($8.20), who made his seasonal bow in an $18,000 non-winners-of-one trot. The sophomore colt was blanked in seven starts as a rookie, taking two show finishes in OSS Golds, but is one-for-one in 2026 after a two-move mile in which he motored home in :28.1 to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3. Bossence also owns the second son of Muscle Mass-Pretty Crafty to visit the winner’s circle on the 10-race card.

Bossence, the 2021 Future Star Award winner, has 17 victories from 109 starts in 2026. Last season's co-training champion at Grand River Raceway is 464-for-3,234 lifetime.
