Quiksilvr Bluechip notched his second-straight Open level win in the $20,000 Wednesday (May 4) feature at Harrington Raceway in 1:55.
Co-owned by trainer-driver Victor Kirby with Tyler Raymer, Stephen Moss and Brian Hoffecker, the six-year-old Credit Winner gelding led wire-to-wire and prevailed by a length over Spee Club and Lizzy Lauxmont. The complexion of the race changed dramatically when favourite Monarch, who had won three straight, broke stride behind the gate prior to the start. It was the 20th win for Quiksilvr Bluechip and one of two wins on the card for Kirby. He paid $6.60 to win.
Art Stafford Jr. and Ross Wolfenden each had three wins on the night, while Allan Davis joined Kirby with a double.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule.
