A powerful wind storm forced Friday night’s card at Woodbine Mohawk Park to be cut short after six races.
The brutal wind storm, which caused power outages and injuries throughout the Halton Region, left Woodbine Mohawk Park without track lights and running on a backup generator.
Friday’s 11-race card got underway at 7:30 p.m. and a total of six races was contested before it became too dark to continue without track lights.
Racing Officials waited roughly half an hour following the sixth race to see if power would be restored before pulling the plug on the remainder of the card.
Live racing will resume Saturday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a special post time of 7:05 p.m.
