
Driver Jeff Long's popular pacing mare P L Princess C ($5.90) won the featured $15,069 conditioned distaff pace at Tioga Downs on Friday, May 30.
P L Princess C went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.2 and the half in :56. Huntressville A (Braxten Boyd) went first-up to challenge going down the backstretch while P L Princess C continued on top to three-quarters in 1:23.4. As they reached the stretch, pocket-sitter Won Surreal Deal (Tyler Miller) slipped through on the inside while Huntressville A kept charging on the outside, but P L Princess C dug in to win, equalling her lifetime best of 1:52.2 in back-to-back starts. She won by a neck over Huntressville A while won Surreal Deal finished over a length behind in third.
P L Princess C, a six-year-old mare by Thinking Out Loud out of Taylorlane Action, has now won three races in a row at Tioga and boasts 22 career wins from 54 starts lifetime. Jeff Long co-owns with Charlene Long while Paul Long handles the training duties.
Live harness racing returns to Tioga on Saturday, May 31, with a post time of 6:15 p.m.
