On Tuesday, May 30 at Running Aces, trainer/driver Rick Magee had plenty of confidence in Best Of Jenna, his five-year-old Jenna Beach Boy mare, as he sent her hard off the gate from Post 7 and took control of the evening’s featured race.
Magee was aggressive early with Best Of Jenna ($10.20) and immediately served notice to the field of nine talented pacing distaffers that he and ‘Jenna’ meant business.
The duo fired off an opening quarter in :26 and an opening half in 55.2. The duo then re-fired the accelerators past the three quarters post in 1:23.2 before kicking home in :28.3 to post a career mile of 1:52 for owners Dr. Ken and Jana Lee Rucker. Kayla Grace (driven by Joe Casagranda) picked up second, while race favourite Stable Eyes (Luke Plano) checked in third.
The next card of live racing at Running Aces will head to post this Saturday night (June 3) at 6:00 p.m. CDT, with a carryover in the 20-cent Jackpot Pick-5 wager of $3,524.53, a carryover in the late 50-cent Pick 4 of $1,633.88 and a carryover in the 50-cent Hi-5 wager of $2,496.25.
