Private Joke, under the command of Marc Campbell, was victorious in Thursday’s top class in 1:57.4 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park

Trained by Earl Watts for owners Wade Peconi, Windemere Farms and John Howatt, Private Joke defeated JK Special (Walter Cheverie) and Dreaming (Norman Myers). The race was scratched down to a field of four after two horses, General Luckypercy and Mach Raiser, couldn’t compete.
It was a big night for driver Marc Campbell. The 2011 O’Brien nominee guided two other winners on the card and put his Drive for Charity sponsor, Image Works, on the map raising money for their charity - the Prince County Hospital. Campbell drove Bakardi Arti to victory in the Canadian Welders Bureau pace in Race 7 and came right back in Race 8 aboard Rebelforce.
Whats It All About won her second in-a-row in the evening’s trot class stopping the timer in 2:02.3. Danny MacDonald was in the bike for owners Bill Andrew, Calgary, Alberta and Brian Andrew, Milton. Diamond Mine and Duvar Road completed the triactor.
Ron Matheson recorded a driving double.
Racing returns Saturday at 6 p.m. Red Shores Summerside will host a Sunday afternoon program featuring the Ruby Chappell and the Bob Dewar Stakes. Post time is 1p.m.
