After having been away from charted races for roughly two months, four-year-old Apaches Fame gelding Twin B Warrior shook off a little rust with a front-end victory during Mohawk Racetrack's six-race qualifying session Tuesday
, May 30.
With pilot Randy Waples calling the shots, the career winner of 10 of 32 races and $615,861 in purses went forth in the last dash of the morning under 'fast' track conditions.
Having fired out from Post 7, Waples and the Jeff Gillis-trained bay sliced and diced the fractions in :29, :57.4 and 1:26.3 before cruising home with a :27.3 final panel. The win time was 1:54.1 and the margin of victory was three quarters of one length.
Prior to the qualifying effort, Twin B Warrior last raced on April 2 at Woodbine Racetrack in the $125,000 Spring Pacing Championship.
