The 4-5 favourite, Show Runner was third when Jim Pantaleano sent her after Rockin Rum Springa, who had taken the field through demanding fractions of :26, :54 and 1:21.4.
The seven-year-old daughter of Little Steven-Peace Runner had little trouble putting away Rockin Rum Springa, but had to dig deep to hold off the Lightning Lane charge of Spreester and down her by a neck in 1:51.3. Hurricane Calleigh rallied for show.
Christen Pantaleano trains Show Runner, who now boasts $470,791 in career earnings, for A Piece Of The Action LLC.
