For the second consecutive night, driver Jim Marino was the star of the card at Fraser Downs, dominating the 12-race program with five wins.
Marino scored his first two wins with horses trained by Erik Neyhart; Tahuya Artic Cam (2:03.2) won the opener and Tahuya Crusher (1:57.4) was victorious in the third race. The Brent Hill-trained Im The Reason (1:59.3) gave Marino a hat trick in the fifth race and he returned for more aboard A Midnight Promise (1:59) for Wayne Isbister and Red Star Brooklyn for Casandra Uppal (three wins on the program) in the next two races.
Marino boosted his win total to 78 and earnings to $473,619 with his standout performance this weekend. The resident of Surrey, B.C. now boasts 1,131 victories on his lifetime record and well over $6.2 million in earnings.
