Rock N Roll Heaven, a colt from the first crop by Rocknroll Hanover, powered his way to the top entering the stretch and drove off to win a 1:59.3 qualifier at Scioto Downs on Saturday

It was the first start for Rock N Roll Heaven, who is out of the mare Artistic Vision p, 4, 1:50.2 ($634,808). He’s owned and trained by Roy Ohagen of Florida and won for driver David Myers. His margin of victory was 2-1/2 length. The mile made him the first winner sired by Rocknroll Hanover
In the previous race, Sand Savage became the first 2:00 juvenile of 2009 when he held off Cambest Kisser by three-quarters of a length. Driver Jason Moore sent him to the front at the start of the race and led all the way. Jim Arledge trains for owner Bill Sanders. The winner is by Allamerican Native out of Sheer Hose p, 3, 1:54.4Q ($11,491) by Artsplace.
The freshman trotter Medoland Jesse (Jailhouse Jesse) won in 2:09 after using a 29-second third panel to discourage his pursuers. His margin was a neck for driver Tyler Rush.
Best Of Ball, an Ohio champion last year, scored in the fastest qualifier of the day when she clocked a 1:56.3 mile for trainer-driver Jim Dailey.
