Whatever Lolawants got just what she wanted on Saturday night at Georgian Downs. The four-year-old daughter of Incredible Abe pulled off a mild 6-1 upset to capture the winner’s share of the $15,000 purse in the featured Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot
.
With Scott Coulter at the lines, Whatever Lolawants made the winning move at the third quarter pole from third and used a :29.1 final frame to prevail by a half-length in 1:58.2 as the pacesetter and last week’s winner, Countess Stormont (Garrett Whelan), faded to fourth. Desperatehousewife (Todd Ratchford) closed well to finish second and the favoured Saqqara Dream (Stephane Lareau) finished third off a pocket trip.
Mike Keeling trains and co-owns the winner of six races and $114,457 with Richard Ferguson of Woodville and Ronald Keeling of Owen Sound, Ont.
In the $6,000 sixth race, a designated C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series event, the Craig Yates-trained Prince Rocco and Thomas Williams took all the glory with a 2:01.1 score.
The seven-year-old S Js Photo trotter followed Feeling Frazzled (Stephen Oldsford) three-wide at the third quarter station and came home in :30-seconds to win by nearly three lengths. Feeling Frazzled finished second and Orfeus (Sherwin Edwards) rounded out the top three.
The winner of 12 races and nearly $60,000 is owned by Frank Lamacchia of Brantford and Antonio Miceli of Mississauga, Ont.
