Who would harness racing's sharpest minds select in the 2019 Trot Magazine Fantasy Stable? Trot Insider will feature 'expert picks' in advance of the deadline for this year's contest, brought to you in partnership with the Breeders Crown.
Announcer for Woodbine Mohawk Park, Ken Middleton has offered his picks for the 2019 Fantasy Stable. Middleton has honed in on 2018 Fan Hanover and O'Brien Award winner Shower Play from a deep group of competitors in Group D.
"Even though Shower Play had her sophomore season cut short, she demonstrated the speed and skill needed to beat anyone in the division," said Middleton, whose stable ranked the highest out of the 2018 experts. "She's an extremely talented OSS grad who can make a pile of money without ever leaving home considering she has events like the Roses Are Red, the Milton and the Breeders Crown right at Mohawk Park."
Shower Play (Shadow Play - Alice Emily) scored six wins during her 2018 campaign, including three Ontario Sires Stakes events, the Fan Hanover Final and Simcoe division. She bankrolled almost $480,000 and took a mark of 1:50.2 in the Fan Hanover Final at Woodbine Mohawk Park for trainer Rene Dion, who co-owns with Susie Kerwood and Martin Leveillee.
