Man In Pink Doubles Up

Man In Pink rallied off cover and wore down pacesetter Slim N Sleek in the $1,400 Winners Over Pace at Exhibition Park Raceway to win for the second consecutive time this week

.

In the Saturday afternoon feature event, Slim N Sleek (Gilles Barrieau) hustled to the lead and directed the field through fractions of :28.4, :57.4 and 1:28.2 while Man In Pink, who got away fifth from a Post 4 start, followed the cover of favourite Igoddago (Mike Campbell). The six-year-old son of Camluck-Cool Pink unleashed a :28.3 final frame to catch Slim N Sleek and kick away by 2-1/2 lengths for the 1:58 score. Slim N Sleek stayed for second and Igoddago finished third.

Man In Pink paid $11.50 to win. His previous win came in a conditioner at Fredericton Raceway this past Monday. The bay gelding has won three of his last five starts for his new connections, owner Charles Oliver of Saint John, NB and trainer Lucie St Amour.
