When Hoosier Park Racing & Casino’s 54,000 square foot casino opened its doors on Monday, June 2, 2008, Centaur Gaming Chairman & CEO Rod Ratcliff was quoted as saying “Welcome to our Field of Dreams. It has been a long and rewarding journey to arrive at this point.”

Those words, and that day, marked the start of a ten-year adventure that will be commemorated with a Cheers to Ten Years anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 2.

Hoosier Park’s anniversary on Saturday, June 2 will be highlighted by drawings, giveaways, live music, and food specials.

During the celebration, Hoosier Park guests will have a chance to win $500 in free slot play every hour from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Additionally, $100 mystery race voucher giveaways will begin at trackside Club Centaur at 4:30 p.m. and Status Advantage Club Centaur members will be offered a chance to win up to $10,000.

Dining specials will be offered throughout the day and will include $2 hot dogs, $2 tacos, and $2 pork sliders. And, draft beer and racing programs will also be available for $2 each. Guests may also enjoy dining options at Prime Harvest Buffet, VooDoo BBQ & Grill, Caballo Loco, The Homestretch Steakhouse, and The Big Deli.

Adding to the evening’s celebration, a free, live performance by the high-energy country and rock Nick Netherton Band will be featured on the casino floor at 8 p.m. Additionally, Kyxx will perform live in The Terrace Showroom at 10 p.m., following live racing.

“In a blink of an eye, ten years has passed since we opened the doors for the very first time as Hoosier Park Racing & Casino. It’s been a remarkable decade with our team members, guests, and community,” said Jim Brown, Centaur Gaming’s president and COO. “Our number one goal has always been to provide the very best gaming, racing, dining and entertainment experience to Central Indiana, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together as a team in the past ten years.”

Since 2008, Hoosier Park and sister property Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville have hosted more than 46.5 million guests and given away more than $1.4 billion in hand-paid jackpots.

Indiana Grand is also celebrating a ten-year anniversary and will also host a special celebration on Saturday, June 9. More details on Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand’s anniversary celebrations can be found at www.hoosierpark.com and www.indianagrand.com.
