Tajmeallover ($5.50) provided another thrilling finish in winning Century Downs' $10,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace for the second consecutive week on Saturday afternoon (May 28).

J.F. Gagne drove the homebred Tajma Hall-Watch Over Me mare, who is trained by Marjorie Dumont, for co-owners Peter Van Seggelen, Carl Warnaar and Tapron Holdings Ltd.

Once again, American Passion (Brandon Campbell) took command off the gate and led the short field of five through panels of :28.2, :57.3 and 1:26.1 to the third quarter pole. Sing Like An Angel (Travis Cullen), the 6-5 favourite, had worked her way into the two-hole over 8-5 second choice Tajmeallover early on and was out an rolling down the backstretch. Meanwhile, Tajmeallover was shuffled to the back of the pack while Nighttraintovegas (Nathan Sobey) rallied outside three-high. Tajmeallover followed the cover wide and then fanned even wider coming off the turn into stretch. Tajmeallover managed to out-sprint Nighttraintovegas to the wire, winning in the photo finish by a neck in 1:55 flat, with her final quarter clocked in 28 seconds. Sing Like An Angel finished one and a half lengths behind while Im Gracies Wigwam (Ed Hensley) was fourth and American Passion completed the finish order.

Tajmeallover has earned $28,500 this year with top-three finishes in all 10 of her Open starts. Saturday's win was her third and fastest of her five-year-old season. She now has 18 career wins and a lifetime bankroll of $123,581.

In other action, Travis Cullen enjoyed another training/driving triple on the 10-race card.
