Alberta Open To Neal Diamonique

Neal Diamonique dominated the competition in the $8,700 Open Pace with a wire-to-wire effort on Saturday afternoon at Alberta Downs

Driver Jim Marino fired the popular Neal Diamonique to command from Post 4 and the six-year-old son of Real Desire-Diamonique Mindale showed the way past panels of :27.3, :58 and 1:26.4 over the track rated ‘good.’ Neal Diamonique faced little pressure as he cruised to the wire in 1:55 flat. Pocket-sitter All Canadian Mjjz (J.F. Gagne) finished one length behind and Kg Explorer (Scott Knight) was third.

Neal Diamonique ($4.80), who recorded his second win in his last three starts, is now two-for-10 this year with over $16,000 banked for owners Edward Dhoedt of Edmonton and Ernest Greenwood of St. Albert, Alta. The Lance Ward trainee now sports 23 wins on his lifetime record and over $355,000 in earnings.

Way to go Lance. You had a good day. I watched the race on the computer. Maybe I will get to meet Neal one day.
