Off to a perfect start in her career, three-year-old pacing filly Mollop Hanover stole the spotlight at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a victory in the Friday night feature.

The field for the $21,000 fillies and mares conditioned pace was reduced to five with three scratches. With Mollop Hanover's regular reinsman James MacDonald in London, Ont. for Western Fair's Camluck Classic, Jonathan Drury picked up the catch-drive and pointed the 1-5 favourite to the front early from post three. Mollop Hanover cleared outside leaver Chelsis Choice (Sylvain Filion) at the quarter pole in :28, but her lead was short-lived as Starlight Dancer (Jody Jamieson) swept up to take over the top spot.

Mollop Hanover followed in the pocket through a :57 half and three-quarters in 1:25 before kicking home in :26.4 to track down Starlight Dancer late with Chelsis Choice closing outside to make it a close call. Mollop Hanover prevailed by a head over Chelsis Choice in 1:52.1. Starlight Dancer finished 1-1/4 lengths behind in third.

Anthony Beaton trains the undefeated Betting Line filly out of the Grand Circuit stakes-placed mare Mayhem Seelster. Mollop Hanover is a half-sister to 1:47.4 pacer Mad Max Hanover, a son of Always B Miki who banked more than half a million dollars last year competing against the sport's best sophomores. A $40,000 yearling purchase at the 2021 Harrisburg Sale, Mollop Hanover went unraced as a two-year-old, but is now four-for-four for owner West Wins Stable, Dumain Haven Farm and Eric Good.
