Twilight Seelster In The Zone

The betting public was bang on with its assessment of Twilight Seelster in Tuesday evening’s $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

The four-year-old daughter of Modern Art-Titania Seelster, who was sent off as the 3-2 favourite in the eight-mare affair, went to the front and didn’t look back en route to a four-length score in 1:56 in the featured tilt.

Twilight Seelster was parked to the quarter pole in :27.4 before crossing down to the rail and chopping out middle splits of :57.1 and 1:26 for driver Phil Hudon. A :30-second final quarter more than sealed the deal for the distaffer, who was followed under the finish line by Farmers Tuition and Royal Cover Up.

Larry Ainsworth trains Twilight Seelster for owner Brad Wilson of Lambton Shores, Ontario, and together they’ve watched the mare assemble a 4-4-0 record from just 16 trips postward this season. The 13-time winner has banked $115,912 to date.
