The Prospect Series kicked-off on Sunday, May 26 at Flamboro Downs for sophomore trotting fillies, with Sandoon scoring in front-end fashion in the lone $8,000 division.

Leaving from post six in the field of nine, driver Bruce Richardson held the throttle wide open off the gate with Sandoon, as she marched to the front on the first turn before leading the field to the quarter in :30.1. Sandoon had things her way to the half in 1:01.1 before Samuel Fillion moved Fast Resolution from fourth and started the outer flow, moving into second at three-quarters in 1:31.3.

Sandoon asserted herself on the lead on the final turn, reaching the top of the stretch 1-3/4 lengths clear of pocket-sitter Had Me A Whiskey and Travis Cullen, who reclaimed the second spot turning for home. Sandoon's lead began to dwindle in the lane as Had Me A Whiskey made a strong move at the leader up the rail; however, Sandoon had enough left to fend off the challenger by a neck on the wire in 2:01.3. Shetrotsalot and Paul Walker finished third.

The victory was the first in the three-year-old campaign of Sandoon in her seventh start for trainer John Holding, who co-owns along with Morley Bosomworth. A daughter of Looklikeachipndale out of the Striking Sahbra mare, Striking Ivy, Sandoon is now a five-time career winner having banked $44,200 lifetime.
