Possible Mohawk Expansion Passes Hurdles

It has been reported that Milton Township, home to Mohawk Racetrack, has recently approved a zoning amendment that will clear the way for the Campbellville raceway to drive on with its long-proposed expansion, which operators are hoping will include expanded gaming

.

A report by Tony Saxon in the Guelph Mercury has reitterated the Woodbine Entertainment Group's vision for the picturesque raceway, which includes the addition of a hotel, convention centre, golf course.

In terms of WEG's desire to land expanded gaming and incorporate it into the plans, Saxon's article also quoted WEG Vice-President of Corporate Affairs Jane Holmes as saying, “that is our desire,” although the plan could still move ahead without the gaming expansion.

“We’re in dialogue with different development partners," Holmes said. "We won’t be moving forward until we actually have a partner for it. An investment as well as a management partner on the hotel and the golf.”

I like this. Do we have an alternate plan in the works? Look at this Dalton and Dwight, you may see other locations coming up with alternate plans. Things may get very difficult for OLG. sincerely Bruce T. Winning

Sounds good but I wouldn't bet against the house. Too many questions. I understood Mohawk was clear to add slots but what is the real story. If Woodbine did close would it work out of Mohawk?????
We would all like to see Duncan put in his place but you might have to wait for the next election.
