Eight Is Great For Allard

Teamster Simon Allard showed no mercy to his sulky-sitting counterparts at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday evening thanks to his eight-win performance

on the 15-race card.

Three of Simon’s winning efforts came behind horses trained by his brother, Rene Allard. They joined forces to click with Aloft (1:57.1), Shanghai Tiger (1:55) and Stonebridge Wish (1:52.2) in the featured $10,700 conditioned/claiming pace, but the winning didn’t stop there for Simon.

He tacked on additional wins with Aka The Situation (1:56.2), Mya Mutt (1:58.3) Banner Baby (1:56.4), Shark Shootout (1:57.1) and Chip Dot Com (2:00.2) to complete the eight-win performance.

The career winner of 1,579 races has racked up more than $12.4 million in career earnings with the horses he has driven, and he’s on the verge of celebrating his sixth consecutive season of banking more than $1 million in earnings. He leads all Rideau reinsman with 155 trips to victory lane over the oval this season.
