Warrawee Legend Stars In Mohawk Quallies

After dominating in a pair of qualifiers at Rideau Carleton Raceway, North America Cup eligible Warrawee Legend, a son of Dragon Again-Armbro Wisdom who was lightly raced at two, captured Mohawk Racetrack’s first qualifier

Monday morning with another wire-to-wire romp.

With Sylvain Filion in the bike for trainer Claude Cadieux, Warrawee Legend left from Post 8 and carved out fractions of :29.1, :58.2 and 1:27 en route to a 15-1/2 length victory in 1:54.2. Mavericky (Paul MacDonell) finished second and Windsong Glamorous (Jack Moiseyev) was third.

Warrawee Legend, a half-brother to Kentucky Sires Stakes competitor Warrawee Kay, was purchased by Gestion Jean Yves Blais of Montreal, QC for $52,000 at the Harrisburg sale. He is assessed at odds of 90-1 in Trot Magazine’s Spring Book.
