It has been an impeccable start to the season for a veteran mare at Fredericton Raceway. My Bright Penny is now 2-for-2 to kick off her five year old campaign, following a 1:59.1 triumph during Victoria Day celebrations

at the capital city oval.

Mike Campbell guided the five-year-old daughter of Versus to another come-from-behind victory, defeating Elm Grove Camrose and Noble Senator in the fastest mile of the afternoon. My Bright Penny is a homebred for owners, Dawn and Ted Bremner of Jemseg, NB. She made an eye-catching three-wide move on the way to the three quarter pole, placing herself in contention against the front-running horses. My Bright Penny will likely make her next appearance during the next program at Fredericton, which is slated for Thursday, June 2.

The top class of the day was captured by Melodys Cookie Boy. Driver, Bill Watts was in the sulky as the horse scored in 2:00.4. He defeated Choco Du Ruisseau and Provoke Me for his first win in only start number two of the season.

Gilles Barrieau earned two driving wins on the afternoon, scoring with Mooshy Mooshy Bea in 2:02 and Nicoles Baby in 2:03.2.
