Stormont O My was back on top Saturday winning Sudbury Downs’ $11,000 Not Listed Preferred Trot for the third time in her last four starts.

Stormont O My finished second last time out on May 12 to Kashas Kid, but with the absence of that foe during Saturday’s running as he heads to an Invitational event at Western Fair Raceway on Wednesday, Stormont O My was the one to beat.

The fan favourite got away third after leaving from the assigned outside Post 6 with trainer Mario Rivest in the bike, while Elton Blue Chip (Justin Turcotte) headed to the top from Post 1. After a :28.1 first quarter, Stormont O My rolled up alongside the leader and those two battled past the half in :58.3 and three-quarters in 1:28.3. The six-year-old daughter of Stormont Bronze-Tanya Seelster gained the upper hand in the stretch and tripped the timer in 2:00.1 with Elton Blue Chip finishing three-quarters of a length behind. Apeachtoremember (Gerry Belanger) was third off a pocket trip.

John MacMillan of Spencerville, ON owns Stormont O My, who returned $4.40 for the win. It was her fourth victory of the season in 14 starts lifting her 2010 earnings to $37,345.
