The trot went to Sunland Dakota, a four-year-old gelding by Corleone who won his third start in seven tries this year with a 1:56 victory over Foggy Lane K and Hello Carlo. To win he had to overcome a break at the start and come from seventh to first in the final quarter.
Dont Blame Her beat Danika Hanover and Just An Artist to take the evening’s feature pace for the Morgan-Page duo. She was reserved off fast fractions and then swung three-wide around the final turn to overtake pacesetting Shell I Attack. The six-year-old Village Connection distaffer paced in 1:54.1 for his second wins in four starts this season.
