The stage is set for one of Canada’s premier harness racing events as The Raceway at Western Fair District hosts the $150,000 Camluck Classic, presented by Seelster Farms, on Friday, May 29, featuring an elite field of older pacers from across North America.

Headlining this year’s edition is Brue Hanover, who crossed the wire first in the 2025 Camluck Classic before being placed back to third — a result that adds intrigue and redemption to his return engagement. Also back for another shot at Camluck Classic glory is fan favourite Poseidon Seelster, making his fourth appearance in the race and entering as the newest member of Canada’s millionaire’s club. Calicojack Hanover, last year’s Charles Juravinski Memorial winner, will enter on a three-race win streak, including a 1:48.4 lifetime best clocking in his latest.

The international flavour of the race is strong, with a pair of formidable American challengers shipping in. Lou Hill, fresh off a sparkling 1:50 victory at Yonkers Raceway, joins Donegal Luther N, who captured three legs of the prestigious MGM Borgata Series earlier this season at the same venue.

Lous World will make a second consecutive appearance in the Camluck Classic and is coming in fresh off a career-best 1:49 victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The final two starters will be announced over the weekend and the post position draw will take place prior to Monday evening’s race program at 5:30 p.m. and shown on The Raceway’s YouTube and simulcast channels.

Powerful Undercard Adds to Big-Night Excitement

Camluck Classic night will also feature an outstanding supporting card, including:

  • The $50,000 Forest City Pace for older mares, being contested for the final time before its rebrand as the “So Much More” beginning in 2027.
  • Four $40,000 London Classic Sale Series finals showcasing rising young talent.
  • Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots divisions for three-year-old filly pacers.
  • The return of the Bulldog Hanover Preferred, sponsored by the connections of the sport’s fastest horse of all time.
  • Fan experience, wagering menu, promotions and a national broadcast.

Fans attending will be treated to a full evening of entertainment and engagement, both on and off the track:

  • HPIBet Promotion: Receive a three per cent cashback bonus on all wagers placed on the Camluck Classic program.
  • $10,000 guarantees early & late Pick-4.
  • $20,000 guarantees on early & late Pick-5.
  • Live Entertainment: Local artist Connor Morand performs live.
  • Food & Beverage: Food trucks on the patio and a lively trackside beer tent.

Giveaways & Contests:

  • Camluck Classic swag giveaways throughout the night.
  • A special Bulldog Hanover “Own-A-Horse” Contest, where eight lucky participants will share in $1,200 in prize money.
  • In addition, the Bet Ontario Handicapping Contest will officially launch on Camluck Classic night. This marks the first in a series of on-track contests scheduled across Ontario this summer.

The excitement will reach a national audience as well, with a special edition of Prime Time Racing airing live on Game+ TV, hosted by Mark McKelvie alongside Hall of Fame driver Chris Christoforou. Jaimi MacDonald will join as with features and interviews from the competitors earlier in the week.
