Faith Step moved powerfully first over, collared the leader in mid-stretch and rolled to victory in the Wednesday, May 22 co-feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,753 conditioned trot.
Faith Step was fifth down the backside when Ridge Warren sent her after the leader, Midnight Nolan, who could offer no resistance. That was the last obstacle for the three-year-old homebred daughter of Fordham Road-Fast Reaction, who triumphed in a career-best 1:55.4. Andy B Worthy rallied for second, four lengths back, with the pocket-sitting Cyclone Ben third.
Rick Beinhauer trains Faith Step and owns with Regina Beinhauer.
In Wednesday’s other co-feature, also a $15,753 conditioned trot, PJs Dream made it three straight for Mike Wilder, trainer Richard Perfido and owners Dr. Scott Leaf, Dr. Michael Ternisky and Gerald Fielding. The daughter of Greenshoe-Dream Baby Dream earned a life mark with a front-end victory in 1:55.4. Blockchain finished second, beaten a neck, while Big Dreams Count completed the ticket.
Warren, Jack Killeen and Dave Palone each enjoyed a double on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Thursday, May 23 when the 13-race program gets underway at 12:45 p.m.
