Sonic Breeze held off the favourites in the $5,600 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace on Wednesday to score her first Western Fair District win since capturing the City Of London Series Final last May.

Making her fourth start of the season, Sonic Breeze teamed up with driver Mark Williams and went wire-to-wire for the 1:57 score. She forged to the front from post three and carved out panels of :27.1, :57.1 and 1:26.3 before holding off the pocket-sitting Doober Hoozzitz and Robert Sparling Jr. by half a length. Boomersbestbet, driven by Billy Davis Jr., and Twilight Seelster, with Mike Horner in the sulky, advanced first and second over to finish over one length behind.

Sonic Breeze paid $24.90 to win at the 11-1 fourth choice in the field scratched down to eight.

Trained by William Kirkpatrick for owner/breeder Pamela Loomis of Grosse Pointe, Michian, the five-year-old Ontario-sired daughter of Mach Three has won seven times in 25 lifetime starts to earn over $70,000 in purses.

This year's City Of London Series Finals will be held on Molson Pace night Friday, May 31. Eliminations for the trotting divisions were held on Tuesday, May 21 while the pacers will face off on Friday, May 24.
