.

Last week, Canada's 2009 Older Pacing Mare of the Year won the $38,000 event over Arts Diva in front-end fashion, but tonight she let her rival set the pace. Arts Diva (Paul MacDonell) crossed over to the lead from Post 5 in a :26.4 opener and showed the way to the :55.1 half-mile mark.

At the half, Randy Waples angled Dreamfair Eternal out from fourth and she switched into attack mode, gaining on the leader past three-quarters in 1:22.4 and eventually wearing her down in deep stretch with a :26.4 final frame. The six-year-old daughter of Camluck-J Cs Nathalie prevailed by three-quarters of a length in 1:50 flat. Voelz Hanover (Mario Baillargeon) rode the pocket to finish a length behind in third.

Dreamfair Eternal returned $2.70 to win as the 1-5 favourite. The Pat Fletcher pupil is now two-for-three with one second-place finish in three outings so far this season giving her $47,500 in earnings. John Lamers owns and bred the winner of 31 races lifetime and $813,915.
