The betting public didn’t give Shes Nun Bettor N much respect in Friday’s feature race for distaffers at Woodbine Mohawk Park, but that didn’t stop her from posting a 23-1 upset score for driver Doug McNair.
The six-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Christian Doll dropped into an early three-hole while Major League N powered to the lead and laid down fast fractions of :27.2, :55.2 and 1:22.4. McNair angled Shes Nun Bettor N off the rail in the final quarter and her :27.2 closing speed was enough to earn her the neck decision over Dabarndawgswatchin in 1:50.3. O’Brien Award-winning Prohibition Legal swept from last to finish third in her 2022 debut.
Richard Moreau trains the mare for owner Brad Grant of Milton, Ont. The victory improved her seasonal record to 4-3-1 from 13 trips to the track. The 14-time winner has banked $233,555 to date.
