Trainer/driver Travis Cullen enjoyed a productive Monday at Alberta Downs thanks to a three-win performance which included a victory in the matinee program’s featured tilt.

Cullen, who is in the midst of a career season for training and driving, kicked off the card with a 1:56.4 score behind Da Terror in 1:56.4. He was back to victory lane just two races later thanks to a come-from-behind score with Glitteronthebeach in 1:56.3.

He completed the training and driving hat trick with Feelin Flush, who used a :26.4 closing quarter to propel herself to an impressive win in the $8,000 Fillies & Mares Open.

The five-year-old daughter of As Promised-Royals Gotta Go sat just off the speed throughout the mile before sliding out and catching second-over cover in the late stages of the mile. She powered up alongside the pacesetting favourite, Just Fiction, in deep stretch and wore down that foe to win by a neck in 1:56. Blue Star Beauty rounded out the top three.

Cullen shares ownership on the mare with Ken Hanson of Strathclair, MB, and together they’ve watched her put together a 7-3-3 record from 16 trips to the track this season. The 16-time winner has banked $133,744 to date.
