Trainer Jaymes McAssey, seeking his first career training title at Saratoga Casino Hotel, added three wins to his meet-leading tally on Tuesday, May 19.

McAssey started out the day strong when Many Moons Ago ($3.06) prevailed in his Spa debut. The four-year-old son of Tall Dark Stranger-Remember When switched to the trainer after his May 2 start and was in to go for McAssey for the first time on Tuesday. Kyle Swift, who holds a small lead in the drivers' standings in his first full year driving at Saratoga, piloted the trio of McAssey-trained winners. He guided Many Moons Ago and three-year-old Credit Winner-Paya La Renta colt Credito ($15.16) to front-end scores in their first starts under McAssey. Fennel Hanover ($6.22), a three-year-old gelded son of Stay Hungry-Fashion Majorette, came from well off the pace to record his second victory in four local starts and complete the hat trick for McAssey and Swift.

The conditioner came into the week’s action with a small lead over defending training champion Melissa Beckwith with nearly four months of the racing season complete. He now leads her by three wins in the 2026 standings.

Live racing resumes at Saratoga on Saturday with a first post time set for noon.
