As Woodbine Racetrack’s 2014 winter/spring meet came to a close on Victoria Day (Monday, May 19), driver Jody Jamieson and trainer Carmen Auciello proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
Jamieson and Auciello took top honours during Woodbine’s meet, as they finished atop the driver and trainer standings, respectively.
Jamieson, a resident of Moffat, Ont., currently has 83 WEG victories this season, 20 more than his closest rival, Chris Christoforou. Jamieson also banked $1.2 million in purse earnings during the meet.
Auciello has also separated himself from his rivals in the training standings. The resident of Stouffville, Ont. has 47 victories this season, 16 more than nearest rival, Corey Johnson. Auciello's barn earned over $720,000 during the meet.
Racing will resume at Mohawk Racetrack in Campbellville, beginning on Thursday, May 22.
First-race post time is scheduled for 7:25. p.m.
