Twice a winner already this season against the top mares to visit Harrah's Chester Racetrack, Cuz She Can beat the toughest local field yet assembled in 2010, holding off two-time Betsy Ross winner Southwind Tempo

in a 1:50.2 triumph.

The five-year-old Cambest mare sat just off pacesetters Fleur De Lil A and Fox Valley Topaz through a :27 first quarter before Yannick Gingras moved her to the front (Tim Tetrick), Cuz She Can's regular driver, had taken the mount on Southwind Tempo). Taking control before reaching race's midpoint in :55, Cuz She Can stayed out of range of the first-over Flirtiscape, who failed to even pass the pocket-sitting Fleur de Lil at any point on the backstretch.

Sprinting away up the backstretch to a 1:22.3 third quarter split, Cuz She Can was five lengths clear of her greatest threat - prohibitive 3/5 favourite Southwind Tempo. With Flirtiscape at the apex of her bid on the far turn, Tim Tetrick angled Southwind Tempo three-wide off cover, but could only muster runner-up honours behind Cuz She Can, who prevailed by two lengths. Fox Valley Topaz and David Miller showed a mild rally up the open stretch to claim third.

Ron Burke trains Cuz She Can ($11.00) for Bulletproof Enterprises.
