It’s now five starts and five impressive wins for the Bob McIntosh-trained Sunny Dee following her facile score in a $17,000 conditioned event Thursday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Sunny Dee, in rein to Sylvain Filion, turned in a dazzling qualifying win in 1:52.2 over the oval on April 25 following a bit of down time, and she was just as electrifying – though not as quick – in Thursday’s return race.

Filion hustled the three-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach-West Of L A to the lead right from the word ‘Go’, and the filly didn’t look back. She carved out splits of :27.1, :57.4 and 1:26.2 before sprinting home in :27.2 with the plugs still in to win by 7-1/2 lengths over Red River Jane in 1:53.4.

Sent off as the 1-9 favourite, Sunny Dee pushed her bankroll over $40,000 for Robert McIntosh Stables Inc, C S X Stables and Al McIntosh Holdings Inc. The filly appears to be primed and ready for the upcoming SBOA Eliminations at Mohawk Park on Saturday, May 11.
