A major North American Standardbred raceway has announced that it has been forced to cancel its entire summer concert series due to the track’s grandstand needing a new roof.
An article by The Columbus Dispatch states that Scioto Downs’ summer concert series, which was scheduled to see performances by blues musician Buddy Guy and country artists Travis Tritt and Jamey Johnson, has been cancelled so the track can get a new roof installed over its grandstand.

The track’s season of live harness racing is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday, May 9. The roof work will not affect live racing though, as the track has enough alternative seating – in the clubhouse, patio, and the penthouse – to comfortably accommodate race patrons.
A spokeswoman for the track, Ashley Redmon, told The Columbus Dispatch that, “We’re 58 years of history, which means 58 years of building.”
